“The Times They Are A Changing”
…were words sung by Bob Dylan in the 1960’s (the first time I went through the sixties. I started my second journey into the sixties on May 7)! Things certainly have changed - gas was 30 cents a gallon, hamburgers were 15 cents, “coke” was a soft drink, a cell phone was a phone located within a jail, TV was mostly in black and white, the problems in school were chewing gum in class and running in the halls (yes, even I could run in the halls in the sixties)! Russia had the bomb, Berlin had the wall, Alabama had the “Bear” and Auburn had “Shug” (to be politically correct I have to mention both). Pelham Baptist Church had Sunday school, morning worship, training union, evening worship and Wednesday night prayer meeting. At the June business meeting, the church approved the new fall schedule. We will have three Sunday schools, three morning worship services, discipleship groups on Sunday and Wednesday nights and prayer meeting around the supper tables in the annex. We are hoping and praying that God will bless our church as we train, study, and serve in His Glorious Kingdom. This fall I will lead a group on Sunday night in a study taught by Dr. Adrian Rogers entitled “What Every Pastor Ought to Know”. On Wednesday night I will lead a Bible study through the book of Genesis. “TRY IT, YOU’LL LIKE IT” to quote an advertisement from the 60’s.
I love you, I love you, I love you. God bless you and God bless America. Bro. Mike
